Beef jerky or a protein bar? If you love a proper savoury bite, we know which side we are on. BERSERKR brings bold beef flavour and recipes with character. Here is how to compare the details that matter.

Start with flavour
Sometimes another sweet snack simply will not do. That is where BERSERKR comes in: satisfying beef flavour, distinctive marinades and a bite worth slowing down for. From a straightforward meat-and-salt recipe to barbecue or a bolder marinade, jerky offers plenty to explore.
A protein bar usually delivers a different experience: sweetness, a coating or a soft or crunchy texture. Neither category wins every nutritional comparison. But when we want a savoury snack with real character, our choice is a bag of beef jerky.
Protein: a percentage is not a portion
Values per 100 g let you compare products on the same basis. To understand your snack, check the weight of the pack as well. A small bag with a higher protein percentage can contain less protein in total than a larger bar.
For example, a product with 60 g of protein per 100 g provides 15 g in a 25 g serving: 60 × 25 ÷ 100. This is an example calculation, not a value that applies to every BERSERKR flavour.
Compare energy, sugars, fat and salt too. Always use the nutrition table for the recipe you are buying.
Read the ingredients without shortcuts
Jerky may contain beef and salt, or a marinade with sauces, fruit and spices. Protein bars also vary in their protein sources, coatings, sweeteners and other ingredients. A short list does not tell the whole story, and a longer list is not automatically a drawback.
If you avoid a particular ingredient or allergen, read the complete label. Depending on the recipe, marinades may contain ingredients such as soy, wheat or peanuts. The information for the specific product is what counts.
A quick comparison for your next trip
- Flavour: jerky is savoury and meaty; a bar is usually sweet.
- Protein: check both the recipe and the pack weight.
- Ingredients: compare actual labels rather than category claims.
- Storage: follow the instructions on each pack and consider heat, especially with coated snacks.
Ask yourself three questions: do I enjoy it, do the ingredients suit me, and is the serving right for this occasion? With BERSERKR, the flavour is the part we want you to look forward to.
Frequently asked questions
Is beef jerky always better than a protein bar?
Not in every comparison. It depends on the products, your preferences and the serving size. For a bold savoury snack, jerky is our favourite.
Does every jerky flavour have the same protein content?
No. Ingredients and recipes affect nutritional values. Check the table for your chosen flavour.
